I am a freshman at the Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University, majoring in bassoon performance. My instructional philosophy is to guide students, at their own natural pace, using clear and concise language, towards understanding how to apply ideas and why those ideas work. As someone who has struggled with severe ADHD since before starting school, I'm acutely aware of neurodivergent people's differing needs in instructional settings, and I know how to help both kids and adults develop skills to work with their learning differences and improve their academic outcomes.
English is my favorite subject in which to tutor, and I've tutored students grades 7-12 both privately and through peer tutoring programs in Mandarin, English, elementary and middle school math, Algebra 1 and 2, geometry, trigonometry, biology, chemistry, and physics.
Although I happily spend most of my time playing the bassoon and studying, I also enjoy listening to Bjork and playing with my eight-year-old chinchilla, Mogwai.

Playing the bassoon and making bassoon reeds are by far my two favorite activities. I am also very interested in the Mandarin Chinese language; I took Mandarin for all four years of high school, and I even had the chance to go to China with my Chinese class during my junior year.
