Certified Tutor

I am a recent graduate of Coe College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, where I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Biology with minors in chemistry and Spanish. As a liberal arts college, I also completed classes in a number of other disciplines, including psychology, sociology, math (through Calc. III), and physics. After graduating I accepted a position with Biomimicry Design Alliance, where we conduct research to discover how organisms solve specific challenges (such as conserving energy, managing temperature, etc.) and translate these natural functions into sustainable architectural design. I love helping others and throughout college constantly taught and mentored my classmates in difficult subjects. Tutoring through Varsity Tutors has allowed me to continue to follow this calling. My teaching style is "I teach you then you teach me," in which I explain/demonstrate the necessary understanding/techniques required to solve a problem or answer a question, and then have you teach a different problem or concept back to me. In my free time I love to run, read, and take care of my bees.
