Certified Tutor
I am passionate about education, learning, teaching, and specifically literatures and languages. I have experience as an ESL teacher for young children and teens, as well as experience working as a Writing Consultant at my undergraduate institution. I also spent all four years of my undergraduate career volunteering as an SAT tutor for local high schoolers. Beyond this, I have experience both as a private and public Spanish tutor. I love to help students reach their educational and personal goals in any way that I can.
I received my bachelor's degree in Spanish with a minor in English at Colgate University in Central New York, where I graduated as the valedictorian. I am currently an incoming PhD student in the Spanish and Portuguese department at Princeton University. Beyond academia, I love to rock climb, participate in weekly trivia nights, bake and cook new recipes, and go thrift shopping!
I tutor Spanish literature and language, English literature and language, the SAT, and the GRE. My favorite subject to tutor is probably Spanish-- it's my one true love! I think being bilingual is an incredible skill to have, and I love helping students improve their fluency. I would describe my tutoring philosophy as one of gentle guidance and enthusiastic participation. I want students to get excited about the subject material, and I try to always be patient and kind. Similarly, my teaching style is built around open dialogues and conversation. I prefer not to lecture, opting instead for a more collaborative approach to tutoring and teaching.
I'm looking forward to meeting you!
