I am very happy with our experience so far with Varsity Tutors. They matched my daughter with reading specialist Mary and she is wonderful! My 10 year old daughter feels happy after her sessions and believes her tutor has already helped her.

Certified Tutor

I am a Speech-Language Pathologist that works closely with students in 3rd through 8th grade on their reading and writing skills in order to best succeed in school. I have a strong desire to help individuals attain their goals. I am energetic, motivating and caring, and always begin and end my sessions with a positive outlook. My passion for my work helps to motivate my students to strive and to maximize their success. During work, I enjoy helping students learn new concepts in fun and creative ways.

My teaching philosophy is that learning never stops. At the completion of my work day, I like to reflect upon what I've learned and I can study more. I am continuously fascinated by new discoveries in the field of speech and education.

My teaching style includes my ability to improvise and think quickly on my feet. I've worked with many students that refuse to participate in my treatment plans or have non-compliant behaviors. When this occurred, I developed a new strategy to adapt to the client's needs to allow them to feel more comfortable and participate in their session.

I am looking forward to working with you/your student in order to best achieve their goals.
