Certified Tutor

I'm a graduate of the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, where I earned my Bachelor of Arts in History and German Language and Literature. I'm also a graduate of Emory University, where I earned a Master of Arts in History. While working as a graduate teaching assistant at Emory, I discovered a passion for teaching. I love sharing my enthusiasm for my subjects with students and working with students one-on-one and in small groups - and I will bring that enthusiasm to every tutoring session. I tutor History/Social Studies and German, both subjects for which I have a real passion. I believe that a crucial part of education is fostering positive, supportive relationships with my students. As a tutor, I seek to understand each student's educational background, interests, strengths and needs, and goals, so that I can tailor my teaching in order to best support them and help them achieve their educational goals. I believe that tutoring not only helps students build confidence in a particular subject, but also helps them develop skills that they can use throughout their educational career.
