David Fernando: Quincy tutor
Certified Tutor
I'm David C., a 29-year-old male with a true passion for mathematics, science, and literature. I have been tutoring for 2 years and I have been working for 4 years as a professional engineer. I hold two professional degrees: one in engineering and other in finance.
I began my academic life winning a young researcher prize just after I conclude my first degree in Engineering; I developed a mathematical model to help fruit farmers to improve their profit. Also this work was prized with a laureate status which means the highest status for a research work inside academia.
After I started my professional life occupying professional roles inside world-class organizations like the United Nations, Ecopetrol (one of the biggest petroleum companies in Latin America), and The Bogota Aqueduct company ( a company that provides water to a 8 million people city). This professional experience was a real-life application of my knowledge in math, finance, and engineering to help managers to take better money decisions.
My tutoring life started teaching classes of statistics and financial engineering for engineer and business students. I was honored by my engineering school department with teaching classes because of my professional experience and academic background. Although, I prefer one-on-one tutoring and enjoy engaging my students with fun and challenging math problems. I like to apply math to real-world situations to allow my students to fully understand the relevance and necessity of knowing and using math in their everyday lives.
On my free time I like to play chess, write, read essays, and running in nature.
