Certified Tutor

I received my Bachelor's in Psychology from Oregon State University in Corvallis Oregon in 2012. I started studying psychology after doing two years of coursework for Civil Engineering.

I started my Master's in Clinical Psychology at Murray State University in Murray Kentucky in 2013. I am currently taking a break for financial reasons.

My tutoring experience includes volunteering to help middle school students with math, reading, and writing. I have also tutored my peers during my undergraduate and graduate school years.

Subjects that I tutor include reading and writing of all levels. I also feel comfortable helping with elementary school and middle school subjects.

My teaching philosophy includes patience, kindness, positivity, and breaking down tutoring into manageable chunks.

My favorite subject to tutor is reading! I have been an avid reader since I was a boy. I particularly love reading fantasy and about psychology.

My hobbies outside of tutoring include playing the acoustic guitar, exercising (weightlifting and cardio), soccer, football, video games (I don't play as much nowadays but I like talking about them!), animals (particularly cats and dogs), and cooking.

It's also important that I point out my relationship with mental health. I have chronic mental health conditions that make me a particularly empathetic person. I would absolutely love working with a student who has mental health challenges.
