Certified Tutor

I am a student at Duke University pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, and I am on the pre-med track. In the past, I have volunteered as a tutor for students at the middle school that I attended, and I have taught swim lessons and coached at various levels. Through these experiences, I have been able to positively influence others in areas that I am passionate about, something I am excited to be able to continue with Varsity Tutors. I tutor a wide range of subjects, but I especially enjoy biology (my focus of study in college), math, and writing (which I believe is important to success not just in the humanities, but in all academic disciplines). In my free time, I volunteer as part of an organization that leads after-school programs focusing on STEM for elementary-school girls near my university, and I am involved in research in a biochemistry lab at Duke's School of Medicine. I also enjoy outdoor activities like skiing and swimming, traveling, and trying new foods.
