I graduated with a bachelor of arts double-major in Political Science and Sociology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I then served in the Peace Corps in Panama working in sustainable agriculture, and afterward, stayed in Panama working in real estate. I left Panama and moved to Portland, Oregon working in social services at an HIV/AIDS non-profit. After that I moved back home to be near family again in New Jersey, where I have been studying and preparing to enter nursing school. I have had a large variety of personal and professional experiences in various places throughout the world that have helped me to recognize, understand, learn, teach and grow. My main tutoring interest is in the Spanish language, as I have spent much of my life learning, using and teaching Spanish within many different environments. I believe that my experience and diverse skills can be of great benefit to others as they look to improve their Spanish abilities as well. I am able to help students learn through a variety of approaches that meet their needs and support them in reaching their real-life practical goals.
