I am a dynamic educator with experience as a tutor and teacher to a range of students from elementary to university levels of education. My recent experience as a Lead ELA teacher at New York City's fastest growing charter school has equipped me to deliver expert instruction in reading, writing and comprehension. My university course of study at NYU was in Linguistics and Anthropology and I am currently in candidacy for a Master of Education degree in the Anthropology and Education Program at Teachers College, Columbia University. My passions include understanding people, the human condition and how words and language shape our worldview. Thus, whether teaching math or reading, my firm belief is in the power of understanding. Every student can achieve excellence when (s)he relates to the subject matter on a real world level - this is central to my pedagogy. For fun, I enjoy singing, dancing, writing poetry and spending time with loved ones. I look forward to meeting you and learning with you!
