I'm a lifelong learner and educator, and I love to help students become stronger and more confident learners. My first experience with teaching (children and adults) came during my term of service as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Costa Rica, and after earning my Master's and then PhD in Art History, I continued to teach undergraduates. Eventually, my love of teaching took me around the country and around the world, working with students of all ages. One thing I've discovered is that absolutely everyone wants to learn and feels gratified by their own honest work and the success that inevitably follows. Another lesson is not to be too hard on oneself or to forget to relax and enjoy life. I love to be physically active - walking, swimming, yoga - and I also love to spend time with family, cook, read, and travel.
