As a recent graduate of The Ohio State University with a degree Aerospace Engineering, I understand the importance of hard work and dedication. While I went to school for engineering, what I have always loved is working with people and feeling like I am making a difference in someone's life. Tutoring gives me a chance to play a hand in someone else's success by helping people realize their own potential. I have been tutoring for over 5 years and have worked with students in courses ranging from elementary math through college calculus.
Everyone learns differently so I believe it is important to start by finding a student's strengths. Once I understand what my student is good at, it is all about helping them realize the similarities between what they understand and what seems difficult. Most importantly, I am always patient with my students because all that matters is that in the end they feel they have mastered the topic. This is how I have helped many students who thought they had fallen behind come back with flying colors. One of my students was retaking a college precalculus course, and with some proper help she was able to achieve an "A" along with a better understanding of the material.
It is always fun to watch my students grow as they grasp new concepts. I began working with one student in precalculus and worked with her up through calculus III. In the beginning she needed several hours of help a week and struggled with the fundamentals. By the end, she just needed to meet for an hour here and there and was breezing through the course. I always explain the concepts beneath the math because I believe that helps students gain a stronger understanding of the material. Many of my students have gone from highly disliking a topic to actually enjoying it and genuinely wanting to learn more. With the right guidance you too can become math savvy.
Let me help you succeed!
