Certified Tutor

I graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in 2012 with degrees in English writing and Anthropology and a certificate in Global Studies.

I have experience tutoring adults in English as a Second Language and Spanish. I have four years of teaching experience for grades Pre-K - 4th grade in all subjects.

I am willing to tutor all subjects, but my favorite subjects to tutor are ESL, essay writing, and reading and writing test prep. I love ESL because as language learner I love the progress of watching a student master a language and stay curious about a culture. I am passionate about writing and love the process of crafting an essay. Finally, I am strong in the skills of reading and writing test prep and enjoy sharing those skills with others.

I believe that learning, at any age, must be student-driven, hands-on, and inquiry-based. I
Ask questions - live in the mystery, rather than the answer.

Outside of academia, I am a reader, writer, poet, teacher. I also practice yoga, play the saxophone and enjoy the outdoors.
