I knew I wanted to be a teacher when I was in the third grade. It combines my great loves: reading, writing, and conversation. But, I actually like tutoring even more because I get such a kick out of working one-on-one with people. Those one-on-one interactions are when you get to talk about the great puzzle that is grammar or the reason we've all been reading Romeo and Juliet for generations. I believe that there are three components to learning English, be that for class or in preparation for a test: 1. Know your content. 2. Know the process (especially in test taking and essay writing). and 3. Know you are already smart enough to learn this.

I have a BS in Secondary English from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, as well as a diploma from their Robert E. Cook Honors College. I have taught and/or tutored English literature and writing, ACT preparation, and SAT preparation.
