Certified Tutor
I've been tutoring/teaching for the past five years. Before going to college, I spent a year traveling and teaching. I taught English as a foreign language for three months in Laos to students between the ages of 6-45, and taught business English at a university in Morocco for two months. In college, I worked as a tutor in the Symbolic and Quantitative Reasoning Center, as well as independently with high school students.
I have a passion around learning in many different subjects! Before declaring as a Math/Computer Science major, I also pursued Physics and Chemistry as potential fields of study. I have done research both through my school and through the Rochester Institute of Technology and my research will be presented at a number of upcoming conferences.
Outside of school, I love to read and write (I worked for two years at Powell's, so if you're ever looking for a book recommendation, I'm your guy). I got involved with accessibility research at RIT, and am very passionate about making Computer Science more accessible to people from many backgrounds. In the same vein, I am actively learning ASL to better work with Deaf/Hard of Hearing researchers on furthering our accessibility research.
