Education has been a passion of mine for as long as I can remember. On my first day of medical school, we were told that the term "doctor" comes from the Latin "docere" meaning "to teach." Given this enormous responsibility, I find that I cannot help but spread my knowledge that I have attained over my 20 year-long education career.
As a medical student, I know how important it is to succeed in school. While in college, I personally was a Varsity Tutors client and found that it brought me much success in my academic success. I wish, now, to pay it forward and impart my knowledge over the topics I consider my speciality.
By working with several students over the years, I have developed teaching methods dependent on the type of student I am working with. Having a solid foundation to learn and good study skills is incomparable when pursuing higher education, at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. I also know learning techniques that will improve long-term retention.
While attending the University of Texas at Austin, I majored in biology and completed a certificate program in the foundations of business. I consider the fields of science and math to be my strengths and know how to teach these to improve one's knowledge base. As a 4th year medical student, I have also studied for and taken several standardized exams, including medical licensing exams, and I know that the approach to these is different that an exam for class.
Every subject I teach is one I have studied extensively in the past, either through taking Advanced Placement classes in high school, college coursework, or within my medical curriculum. I have worked with several students in the past ranging from preschool to medical student, and have been blessed to see them improve over the course of my tutelage.
If you have any questions for me, or would like more information into my credentials, I would love to be of more assistance and look forward to hearing from you!
