Certified Tutor

I am a current junior at the University of Pennsylvania pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Cinema Studies. I enjoy tutoring because I understand firsthand the difficulties of preparing for college and the rigorousness of high school coursework, and as such am committed to helping young people overcome these obstacles to be the best students they can be. I have prior tutoring experience through the volunteer organizations National Honor Society and Key Club. Additionally, I have also worked on my own as a private mathematics tutor and tennis coach. While I have tutored a wide range of subjects, I am most passionate about high school mathematics as well as the S.A.T./A.C.T., because I believe a strong foundation in both of these areas is critical for succeeding in college. With tutoring, I find it most helpful to understand how the student thinks in order identify why he or she is struggling; by doing so, I am better able to relate to the student and make the material more approachable. In my spare time, I enjoy watching movies, spending time with friends and family, and playing tennis.
