I teach middle school English and History and I have experience teaching high school English, as well. For as long as I can remember, I always loved reading, writing, and learning new things, which has led me to take advantage of really wonderful opportunities, such as studying English and philosophy abroad at the University of Cambridge, leading creative writing workshops for gifted middle school students, and sharing my love of literacy in various classroom settings.

I received my BA in English from the College of William and Mary and I received my MSEd from the University of Pennsylvania. I am certified to teach Secondary English and History. Throughout my academic career, I experienced a variety of ups and downs, but the one thing that made learning accessible and enjoyable for me was having great teachers. I'm honored to have worked with really passionate, intellectual, yet fun and down to earth educators, who supported me and challenged me to reach my fullest potential. And now that I am a teacher myself, I have the awesome opportunity to give back and to connect with students, helping them reach their academic goals. From gifted students to students with learning disabilities, I take pride in personalizing my lessons and goals for each student in an attempt to meet them where they are and to push them even further! Reading and writing are two very important processes that we develop and grow over time. Whether you're looking for short term support on specific assessments or regular support with reading and writing skills, I'm happy to accommodate your needs and help develop your confidence, growth, and successes with literacy!

Outside of my middle school and high school teaching experiences, I have also worked for academic summer programs, teaching writing classes in small group settings, which were always fun and productive. I currently help run an after school homework help lab, where I meet with groups of students for an hour after school to help organize their binders, planners, and test calendars. We spend some of our time working on study skills and reading/writing strategies that they use to complete their assignments more effectively and efficiently. I also have experience working for writing labs, revising student essays for class assignments and college applications.
