What is your teaching philosophy?

Learn complex ideas through simple patterns.

What might you do in a typical first session with a student?

Learn about their current academic status and their long-term goals. Introduce basic problems to help me understand their current aptitude.

How can you help a student become an independent learner?

By providing them with tools for self-study and building their self-confidence.

If a student has difficulty learning a skill or concept, what would you do?

I would try to reach the core of the problem by first assessing what they can do and slowly moving towards what they can't, overcoming barriers as they appear.

How do you help students who are struggling with reading comprehension?

Try to attach a verbal component to all written ideas.

How would you help a student get excited/engaged with a subject that they are struggling in?

Connect the subject to real-world examples and current events. Help them understand the value of the subject they are studying to the world.

What techniques would you use to be sure that a student understands the material?

I would provide them with a sample question pool see how they perform without my aid. I would spectate so I can ensure their problem solving method is efficient and correct.

How would you help a student stay motivated?

By tying the course to real-world applications and examples. Also, by mentioning how a concept will help them in future courses.

What strategies have you found to be most successful when you start to work with a student?

By first identifying their current level of aptitude in the subject and trying to learn about their interest and current academic situation.
