Certified Tutor

I have been an educator for nine years, and I have always enjoyed working with students one on one in order to help them reach their fullest potential. This year, I have stepped out of the classroom in order to work with teachers, and I miss working with students on a daily basis. So, as a tutor, I am able to get back to my passion of teaching students.

I believe that every student has the ability to achieve the highest levels of learning. I also believe that a solid educational foundation sets the stage for life long success. Sometimes, there are gaps in a student's knowledge, and it is my job to locate these gaps in order to help the student move forward. I also believe in the power of student centered learning. Students who are able to think critically to solve problems will be able to continue learning even when working on their own. Therefore, I will challenge students to persevere through difficult content while providing the optimum level of support to reduce frustration and increase independence.

Finally, I believe in a love of learning. Throughout all of my work with my students, I always strive to help students discover the joys of understanding new ideas and overcoming obstacles. I look forward to sharing these ideals with my students as I help them meet their tutoring goals.
