My goal is your comprehension. My philosophy towards education is to first understand a student. A good tutor, in my view, does more listening than lecturing. I believe in a system where the tutor continually asks questions to get the student talking and thinking. Eventually, the student will find the answer and gain confidence to know that he or she can know and master any problem on their own.

What is your teaching philosophy?
First understand what a student knows, and then work from there.
How can you help a student become an independent learner?
Independence is promoted by teaching students how to think.
How would you help a student stay motivated?
Take a step back, review more fundamental aspects of the skill or concept, and try again.
What strategies have you found to be most successful when you start to work with a student?
It's important to understand what the student already knows. This way, the teacher and student start at the same point and can move together at similar rates.
