I am a graduate of Florida State University. In May of 2018, I received a masters degree in Modern European History (major field: WWI/WWII/Holocaust and minor field: Public History/ Gender & Sexuality). Previously, I graduated Magna Cumme Laude with two separate bachelors degrees from FSU in May 2016. The first was in Theatre and the second was in English with a minor in History.
Teaching has been a passion of mine since middle school when I joined my school's Future Florida Educators of America organization. Since then, education has been at the forefront of my mind as I tutored fellow students in High School through the National Honor Society and achieved my Silver & Gold Awards in Girl Scouts by running my own reading camps for at risk youth in local community centers and installing libraries there and creating documentaries about the Holocaust which I toured to local schools.
While at college, I worked at a local Tallahassee tutoring company, Solution Skills, where I continued to tutor in English and History, as well as test prep. I interned for the Holocaust Education Resource Council of the Big Bend where I helped to train teachers to adequately teach their own students about the Holocaust, and I also taught as a Sunday School teacher.
As a graduate student, I worked as a Teaching Assistant at the University for two years, assisting to teach and grade classes between 75-250 students in size each semester. I also tutor for The Princeton Review doing SAT test prep.

What is your teaching philosophy?
My teaching philosophy is patience and detail. I think it is important to start from the beginning and figure out exactly where a student begins to have trouble and why. Once the root of that problem is solved, it is easier to continue, and easier to get around future problems as they arise.
What might you do in a typical first session with a student?
I would do a basic assessment in the areas that the student needs help with, and continue the assessment with increasing difficulty to figure out exactly where and when a student begins to have issues.
How can you help a student become an independent learner?
By helping to identify where and what kind of problems arise in while a student is studying or learning, I can help a student create their own plan or tactics to solve these problems as they experience them. This way students will be able to help themselves to study when they encounter road bumps.
