How would you help a student stay motivated?
Remind them of the long term goal.
If a student has difficulty learning a skill or concept, what would you do?
Have patience and adjust my technique to fit what will best help them.
What strategies have you found to be most successful when you start to work with a student?
Make them feel our relationship is peer to peer and not teacher to student.
How would you help a student get excited/engaged with a subject that they are struggling in?
Relate it to everyday life.
What techniques would you use to be sure that a student understands the material?
Review and have the student explain the material to me as if I didn't understand it.
How do you build a student's confidence in a subject?
Reward them with positive reinforcement.
How do you evaluate a student's needs?
Read their body language and listen to what they say they need help with.
How do you adapt your tutoring to the student's needs?
Try different techniques to see which yields a more effective response.

Textbook, markers, colorful pens, paper.
How do you help students who are struggling with reading comprehension?
Start them off slow and gradually get them to a level they can handle.
