I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Brigham Young University with a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology. Among all the truths I discovered in the process of earning my degree, the importance of a quality education is one that has stuck out to me the most. I believe that everyone can succeed in school, no matter their weakness. I want to help students who are committed to succeeding and are willing to work hard--and I will work as hard as you!
In addition to working with Varsity Tutors, I work at a high school equivalency program for youth and adults.

How do you help students who are struggling with reading comprehension?
I have also struggled with reading comprehension. Although it takes patience, it's important to remember that reading is hard work for some. We have to really focus and engage with the reading. This usually means moving very slowly and stopping often to discuss, ask questions, and check for comprehension. I also believe that reading comprehension increases dramatically when the reader enjoys and is interested in the material.
