Alyssa: Farmington Hills tutor
Certified Tutor
I am currently a graduate student completing my Masters of Science in Predictive Analytics through Northwestern University. I recently moved back to St. Louis from New York City, where I was Associate Director of Analytics for a digital advertising agency. Math, statistics and economics have always been the subjects I enjoyed learning about the most and in which I excelled. This has led me to a career in the analytics field (though in varying industries) for the past 5 years. Since I'm currently in a program that focuses on mathematics, statistics and computer science, I am especially excited to get to tutor in these areas!

What is your teaching philosophy?
I believe it's very important to realize that all of us learn differently. Personally, I am a very visual learner, and I typically struggle with understanding theories without the inclusion of an example. However, this doesn't mean that this is the best way to learn or the easiest way for each person to learn. Each student has a different style that suits their learning best, and I believe it's important to discover that style and adapt the teaching method accordingly.
