What is your teaching philosophy?
I believe everyone can learn anything. It's just a matter of having the correct tools to guide you on your educational adventure.
What might you do in a typical first session with a student?
It is always great to talk about hobbies and interests to get to know one another before tackling the subject matter. Connection to why learning is important is the first step in mastering content.
How can you help a student become an independent learner?
My goal is always to make sure the students leave the tutoring session with strategies to learn on their own. Learning independently takes commitment and hard work, which is a lot easier than they seem given the right guidance.
How would you help a student stay motivated?
Goals. Goals are always a great way to stay focused on the material and the student's motivation.
