Jessica: Edmonton tutor
Certified Tutor
I currently serve as an AmeriCorps member with City Year Seattle King/County as a tutor and mentor at Concord International Elementary. I graduated from Claremont McKenna College in 2014 with a Bachelor’s of Art in Political Science and Spanish. I have three years of professional experience tutoring elementary aged students in Math and English Language Arts. As the eldest of four in my family, I have 15 years of experience interacting with young children. In college I participated in many peer-tutoring sessions where friends and I studied together and learned from each other.
In my spare time I read voraciously. I recently finished “If Beale Street Could Talk” by James Baldwin and prior to that I read “The Unbearable Lightness of Being” by Milan Kundera. I also enjoy exercising, knitting and spending quality time with my Netflix account. This July I will be starting my second year with City Year as a Team Leader. Afterwards I plan to commit to serving as a Peace Corps volunteer focusing on Youth in Development. I still have not decided in what location, but I have narrowed it down to four options.
