I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Harvard University in 2008, receiving my A.B. with Highest Honors in Psychology. I completed my M.S. in 2013 and my PhD in 2016 in clinical psychology at the Florida State University. I have enjoyed tutoring and mentoring students throughout my time as an undergraduate and graduate student. I tutored English as a foreign language for three years to adolescent immigrants/refugees and taught Spanish to third grade students via the Phillips Brooks House Association (PBHA) at Harvard. I also provided academic advising and mentorship to undergraduates as a non-residential tutor at Harvard and to psychology majors at Florida State University. As a graduate student, I have had the pleasure to teach undergraduate courses in psychology and supervise undergraduate honors theses. These experiences (as well as my training in clinical psychology) have taught me how to work with a diverse group of students at different developmental and educational stages. I am sensitive to individual student needs and am flexible in adapting my teaching strategies to this end. While I tutor a broad range of subjects, I am most passionate about English, Literature, and Spanish. I am able to teach students basic grammatical concepts or advanced academic writing. I find helping students develop their reading comprehension and writing to be extremely rewarding -- as it not only leads to improvements in class grades or standardized testing but also expands our knowledge of the world and ability to communicate with others. I am passionate about education and its ability to change our lives and influence society. I believe learning is a lifelong process that can always be improved and strengthened. I hope to instill this appreciation to all of my students and aid them in the pursuit of their goals. In my spare time, I enjoy reading books that stimulate my imagination, playing with my pets, and traveling to new places.
