Certified Tutor

I graduated with my Bachelor of Arts in Romance Languages and International Politics from Portland State University in 2015. I now am homesteading a farm in rural Missouri! I am very personable and love interacting with people in my generation and younger. I believe the world of secondary education is one of formation in a holistic way -- educationally, mentally, socially. I tutor in Spanish and French language, Writing, English, and Algebra. I specialize in grammar (English, Spanish and French Grammar), editing, research, and composition. I absolutely love life and exploration. Because of my adventurous personality, my hobbies are very active in nature. I love to hike and travel; I have visited 54 countries and I love to explore photography and food when I go abroad. I'm very interested in pop culture, but don't take it seriously. I seek out activities that help me expand my mind and reduce stress. I'm a health nut -- I eat very healthily and practice veganism. Food is incredibly central to my life -- cooking and eating out are simultaneously my preferred time commitments. I also love hanging out with my friends and listening to a good record. My tutoring style is very laid back. Don't get me wrong -- I take students' education very seriously. I just passionately believe that lasting, worthwhile education does not occur under stressful, nervous conditions. One should feel comfortable and interested in learning before they approach any assignment. My job as a tutor is to create that atmosphere of calm and doable. From there, I want you to learn more effectively because you aren't stressed. Text anxiety or any anxiety over school is something I would love to help alleviate. My goal is to empower young people to learn in ways that are more effective and personable than the traditional classroom setting. I firmly believe one-on-one learning is a powerful phenomenon that unfortunately occurs far too seldom. I am an altruist, and genuinely want to create a space for students that not only aids them in classroom success, but also brings them peace of mind. My main goal is to empower students to feel comfortable, valued, and confident.
