I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education Studies, graduating Magna Cum Laude from Ashford University in 2012 and am currently attending California State University Fullerton, working towards a Master's of Science degree in Reading and Literacy. My passion for teaching began with volunteer work within the elementary school classroom. This experience inspired me to pursue tutoring. My belief is that a student must have a solid reading foundation in order to excel in all other subjects. I teach with the approach of differentiated, direct instruction methods, taking into careful account a student's schema. I have been volunteer teaching for the past four years and also have over five years of in-class experience. I reside in Orange County, California with my seven year old son and labrador mix rescue, who is my second baby. My hobbies include exercising, reading, music, gardening, and cooking.
