Certified Tutor

I received my Bachelor of Arts in music performance from UCLA and my Master of Arts and Doctor of Philosophy in music from UC San Diego. At UCSD, I taught a variety of courses at the undergraduate level. For my work in this capacity I was twice awarded as an outstanding teaching assistant and consistently received extremely high student feedback for quality of instruction, attention to student learning, and overall satisfaction. I also spent a great deal of time helping students with written assignments, from understanding prompts and organizing content to choosing the best word or developing effective sentence structures. Building on this experience, I am excited to tutor. My favorite aspect of teaching is finding a way to relate a homework problem or question to something that students find deeply meaningful, helping to make the solution intuitive and personal rather than simply correct. Whenever I can, I play my tubas, cook, run, and read books on music, history, and philosophy.
