Certified Tutor

I am a graduate of University of Wisconsin-Platteville and received a B.A. in History, Social Science and German as well as a teaching certification in Secondary Broad Field Social Studies.
I've had experience working with a variety of ages and backgrounds. Assisting elementary students with homework at a multicultural center, tutoring peers in German and acting as a Teaching Assistant in a college World Civilization II course are a few ways I've helped others become successful academically.
Some of my biggest learning experiences took place while studying in Germany and teaching in Ireland. Gaining cultural knowledge through traveling has taught me a lot about perspective and diversity which is important when working with students from all backgrounds. I find it is helpful to get to know a little about the student and their personality to better find an approach that works best for them in a way that also makes sense.
While I can tutor a variety of subjects, I find History most interesting. In order to move forward in a positive way, we should know where we came from so we can build from events and concepts of our past.
