I am a proud graduate of The University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematical Sciences, focused on statistics and data analysis, and a minor in Science, Technology, and Society. I later earned my Master's in Applied Digital Learning from Lamar University. My journey began as a spaceflight training instructor for the International Space Station through a NASA contractor role. That experience opened my eyes to the joy of teaching and helping others grow through knowledge. When I realized instruction was the part I loved most, I decided to pursue it full-time.
Since then, I've spent over 16 years working with middle, high, and college students. From leading hands-on STEM programs to mentoring future leaders through national initiatives, I've built a career rooted in equity, innovation, and student success. I specialize in working with all learners, including ESL/ELL and students with special needs, and I take pride in adapting my approach to make learning accessible, engaging, and personal.
While I'm passionate about Mathematics, it is STEM engagement, inspiration, education, and intentional educational technology use that fuels me most these days. I've helped learners achieve strong outcomes on standardized tests and develop long-term confidence in their abilities. I believe education can transform lives and that a strong foundation in math opens doors far beyond the classroom.
At home, I'm a mother of three, and we enjoy visiting the library, solving puzzles, singing, dancing, and learning together. When I find quiet time, I'm usually diving into new technology, solving math challenges, or enjoying a well-earned laugh with a good comedy. Teaching is not just what I do; it is who I am.
