I have a BA in English Literature and an M.Ed., both from The University of Pittsburgh. I earned my certification as a reading specialist from the University of Akron.
I have 10 years of teaching experience as a certified teacher. I am also a certified reading specialist. I believe the best way to teach is to assess the learning style of each student, teach to their strengths and help them develop strategies to work around their weaknesses. That means helping them discover how they learn which is a skill they will use for a lifetime of learning.
My interests include travel, exercise, yoga, reading, politics and snowboarding. In my current position, I am responsible for managing several education programs for students with special needs, aged from 7-20.
