Teaching and working with youth is one of my greatest passions. For the last six years, I have had the privilege to teach English/Language Arts to students ranging from 7th grade to 12th grade, and I have loved every second of it. I began my teaching career in California, earning my teaching credential in Secondary Education at California State University, Sacramento. After teaching there for four years, I moved to Charlottesville where my husband was finishing his law degree. I had the great privilege of teaching at Monticello High School for two years and recently moved to the Fairfax area.

Working one-on-one with students was always the highlight of my teaching day, which is why I am now focusing more on that aspect of teaching. While teaching full-time, I also had the opportunity to work with students in other subject areas such as Math. Thus, my overall experience in the education field has given me the tools necessary to help all my Varsity Tutors students succeed.
