Certified Tutor

I hail from Potomac, Maryland, where I was born into a family of math and science lovers. I shipped up to Boston for college and decided to hang around for a year afterwards, working as a CPR/First Aid Instructor. After growing weary of the Boston accent, I decided it was time for a change of scenery. In an effort to further pursue teaching, I flew to Israel for a year to work as a English teaching fellow in an elementary school. While there, my role was primarily to work with students on improving their English conversational skills, but I also ended up helping quite a few of them with math, in another language! It was by far the most enjoyable year of my life. The sense of satisfaction and fulfillment resulting from positively affecting the educational experiences of my students was truly remarkable and unforgettable.

I firmly believe that learning should be enjoyable and fun. And it definitely can be! I love to laugh, and I also love to make other people laugh. If I can do that while successfully presenting material, my day is complete. I like to get to know my students as much as I can on a personal level, so that I can factor elements of their everyday lives into the learning equation (no pun intended). It is always beneficial to consider how various topics and concepts can be understood on an empirical level instead of just abstractly.

Additionally, it is always my goal to develop a firm mutual layer of trust. I want my students to feel 100% comfortable expressing any worries or frustrations they may have. All students deserve the help and attention they need to make learning an enjoyable part of life! I look forward to lending it as best I can!
