Certified Tutor

I graduated from Binghamton University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Bachelor of Arts in History. I achieved the Dean's List every semester and was also a Resident Assistant. I spent three semesters working as a Teacher's Assistant, where I helped guide discussion classes as well as write and grade examinations. The classes that I was a Teacher's Assistant for included Organic Chemistry and Theater. I have experience as a tutor for Binghamton's Student-Athlete Success Center where I taught History. I have developed my communication and leadership skills over many years working in Emergency Medical Services and as a Resident Assistant. As a teacher, I consider myself to be "A Guide on the Side, and not a Sage on the Stage." My role is to help my students generate answers and ideas on their own, as well as refining these ideas. I aid in the thinking process, ensuring that my students are understanding the material, and not simply memorizing it. I achieve these most often through practice problems and leading questions. I am also very flexible in my teaching style, and often adjust based on my pupils' needs.
