Certified Tutor

I am currently in my 4th year at Arizona State University studying Civil Engineering. I have completed all of my lower division classes and prerequisites, including many math and physics based classes. I have always been an excellent student in mathematical classes, and I continue to learn more, as much of my major is based around math. I graduated in the top 10 of my high school class with a GPA of 4.21 and I currently have an overall GPA of 3.9 in my time at ASU. I have tutored kids in the past, and I believe that I am good at putting things into terms that allow my students to better understand their course material. I believe that my tutoring methods are effective because I encourage students to learn the entire process behind what I teach them, so that they can carry those skills that they learn on to the next level. I also employ a method of questioning students and helping them to come to realizations on their own with small pushes and hints when necessary so that they have an easier time remembering. I also spend much of my time outside of school participating in sports at the club level for Arizona State, and I always did the same when in high school. I currently play on the club teams for water polo and ultimate frisbee at ASU, but I also love playing basketball.
