It hurts my heart every time I see another student struggle with school work (especially math and chemistry), and that is why I wanted to become a tutor. I love helping other people, and I like the one on one sessions with students so I can make sure they are getting the help they need to succeed. I am a college student at the University of Texas at Arlington, I am pursuing a bachelors degree in Chemistry with a minor in Material Science Engineering. Although in credits I am a year ahead, which means I am technically a sophomore (and I am on track to graduate a year early), this is only my second semester in college.My teaching method is to not answer the question for the student but to ask them questions and bring up fundamental ideas in the subject so the student is able to answer the homework problem on their own. With this teaching style the student will become an independent thinker and will be able to answer a multitude of different problems by being able to think them through. This will also build a students confidence in the subject because the student will eventually be able to answer the question themselves without having to refer to notes which will make them feel as smart as they are becoming!

As an early childhood educator and as an individual in todays world, I am proud to say that the children of our current generation define our future. As an educator for early childhood and elementary school-aged children, it is a privilege to say that I have and continue to have the power to shape these children in the most positive and uplifting ways; and doing so in the public school system has been my life long dream. I graduated college with a double major in early childhood education and psychology at Brooklyn College and received my New York State Teachers Certification License. At the same time, I completed hundreds of observational hours in various public schools with various grades. These observation hours all focused on various subjects and a lot of reflecting was done. I also completed 300 hours of student teaching in a private school with gifted Pre- Kindergarten aged children. With all of this experience at hand, I applied for an assistant teaching position at Strong Place For Hope Day Care and enjoyed every moment of it. About nine months into this position, I was offered a promotion to become the head teacher for the Universal Pre-Kindergarten class, and have been the head teacher ever since. I recently began a new position at Kaleidoscope School and I am the lead teacher for the gifted class there. Each and every day is a learning experience for both my children and me. We have grown and explored so much together. Not only do we complete our daily lessons and focus on our monthly themes, but also continuously grow together as individuals on a daily basis from the first day of school all the way until graduation day. I then became a director of a school where I worked above and influenced highly-educated teachers, and I am now a full time special education public school teacher.With my experience and my passion to teach and influence children, I truly believe I can positively influence our young children. I believe every single child is different and unique and therefore I am very passionate about catering to each and every childs needs and desires. Children learn and interact best when they are interested and one of my main priorities is to always capture the interest of my children. I plan my activities with each student in mind. I allow my students to alter what we are doing if they wish because they are curious individuals who deserve to have a say in what they do. I want to bring all of this passion into the fun filled experience that they have as tutoring students. It can be difficult for students having to go to school after school, but with the energy and passion I will bring to the program, the students will look forward to their tutoring program. I also want to bring my influences into the homes of the children by working with and influencing the parents.Ever since I was in high school, I have been working with children through various tutoring programs and have continued through college, until I was ready for my first teaching position.
