I am a recent graduate of Sacred Heart University with a degree in English, and I am currently enrolled getting my Masters in Education. Currently I work in an elementary school, grades Pre-K through eighth grade, and assist in various classrooms. I have worked with students of all levels and in various subjects. I tutor English Language Arts, Government, and lower level Mathematics. All three of those subjects are great to tutor, but I am a little biased towards English. I like to work with students by meeting them where they are at and finding ways to help them connect to the material. Everything is about making the student comfortable and letting them know they can succeed. I used to be a member of the colorguard at Sacred Heart University, and I miss it so much! In continued onto graduate school at Hofstra University, where I graduated with a Master's Degree in Journalism, Public Relations and Media Studies.As aforementioned, I have worked with students of all ages on a variety of subject matter. I currently teach at an elementary school in Chuluota, FL. I have experience tutoring in areas such as reading, writing, literature and grammar and, as it is a passion of mine, I work hard to make it as enjoyable to the student as it is for myself! I am currently a rising junior and a part of the Scholars (Honors) Program at Binghamton University. I am planning on obtaining a BS in Integrative Neuroscience upon graduation and continuing onto medical school or graduate school for Neuropharmacology. I have tutored many high school students from NYC in different areas of math including Trigonometry, Algebra I, SAT Math, and ACT Math. I have also tutored college students in general Chemistry. I love tutoring pretty much any type of high school math as I find math fun in general. I particularly like tutoring Algebra and Trigonometry best because I enjoy analyzing different types of functions and how to manipulate them. I am an undergraduate at Rice University, and my favorite subjects to tutor are math and science. I also enjoy doing test prep, and my experience comes from helping fellow students in high school. One of the most important aspects of tutoring is fitting the teaching style to each student. One method that works great for one student may not work well for another. Tutoring is all about coming up with different ways for my students to understand the material. If my student is not interested in the subject we are learning, I will try to find a way to tie in their interests and passions into the subject to better engage them.
