Economics Tutoring review by Cortland in Vancouver
The focus of this session was combining supply and demand to find the equilibrium price and quantity supplied and demanded. The equilibrium price is the price at which the amount producers are willing to supply a good/ service is equal to the amount consumers are willing to buy that good/ service. In addition to taking down key terms and vocabulary, the student and I looked at how changes in supply and demand affect the equilibrium price level and quantity supplied and demanded. The student struggled most with recognizing the determinants of demand and supply. We continued to practice note taking throughout the session. The only work I left with him was to read in preparation for the next session.

Today, the student and I reviewed 20 additional multiple choice questions that primarily focused on macroeconomic concepts including the impact of price levels upon the quantity change (and movement along the curve) in aggregate demand, bond investors as suppliers of loanable funds, financial intermediaries, output changes (long run vs. long run), capital changes and net investment, factors that change/shift the demand and supply of loanable funds, nominal vs. real interest rates and the effect of inflation upon purchasing power, and additional definitions and concepts related to investment, financial intermediaries, etc.

Economics Tutoring review by Kimberly in Vancouver
The focus of this session was on firms in perfectly competitive markets and monopolistic competition. The student is catching on to economics and is continuing to improve her knowledge of the topic. She has an excellent attitude. I am providing her some sample tests so that she can identify any weak areas she may have.

The student and I worked on her second practice test, which covered topics relating to unemployment, inflation, GDP, and some other related topics. We were able to work through the practice together, and she managed to get a 95% on it. We are scheduling a time to meet next week to work on the third practice test.

Economics Tutoring review by Andria in Vancouver
Tonight we covered supply and demand models, relative changes in equilibrium, price ceilings, surplus, and shortages. We also looked at import taxes and their effect on markets, using equations to plot supply and demand, and finding equilibrium. We also covered production possibility frontiers and interest rates. I think the student intuitively understands the material and can do well in the course; he just needs a little assistance to guide him through the thought process and to not overthink the questions.

Economics Tutoring review by Lawrence in Vancouver
We reviewed basic economics from the start of the course, after discussing the best way to proceed. One of our goals is prep for the final and the Ap exam. In the future we will also go over problem sets that the student has first attempted himself.
