Dr. Barbara J
I am a graduate of two Universities, Temple University in Philadelphia, PA, and NOVA University in Davies, FL, holding a Ph.D./ABD from Temple and a Doctor of Education from NOVA. I love learning and am a lifelong learner. I also love children and see them as "little people" with the same aspirations to succeed as adults. My love for learning leads me to want to share knowledge with children as well as adults. I am a retired principal of an elementary school in Orange County FL. I have experience teaching, tutoring, and peer coaching to name a few. Before relocating to Florida, I was a city official and a member of the mayor's cabinet in Philadelphia, PA. where I was a director of a City Department. My experiences are broad yet small enough for me to desire to help others to seek and fulfill their full potential. I believe that my success depends on the success of those I tutor and/or teach; therefore I approach each child and adult where they currently are and where they have expressed a desire to be. My goal is to always make a difference.

Travelling is my number one interest and hobby. I love to read and complete puzzles. I'm never found without one or two books that I am currently reading. True stories, i.e. biographies as well as autobiographies I also fish and enjoy it immensely. I have visited four continents and 23 countries. I have visited 37 of the 50 States in the USA with a goal to travel to the other 13 states in the next few years. I like to discover and research information new to me. Lighthouses across the US are of interest to me and I try to visit each as I discover where they are located. My hobbies and interests are eclectic and so are my collections which include dolls, books, and art pieces from each place I visit.
