I am currently an undergraduate at Pennsylvania State University, and majoring in Psychology and Social Sciences. After I graduate I aspire to have a career in correctional psychology, where I can work with helping incarcerated individuals and their families with resources and rehabilitation.
I have been tutoring Spanish, Algebra, and elementary school math since my freshman year of high school. I had the opportunity to work with K-12 students and Spanish speaking adults who are learning English to pass their citizenship. I believe that students learn better when they feel like they have a real relationship with their teachers. So, getting to know the student allows me to adapt my teaching methods based on their personality.
Being a student who once needed a bilingual tutor, I know how valuable it is to have that skill. Having the opportunity to lift the pressure off of parents' shoulders to help their children is extremely rewarding, and is the reason why I tutor. I love giving back to my community and finding new ways to do so.
