I chose teaching as my career because of my love of young people and my desire to inspire and encourage them to be the best they can be. I still have that love and desire today!
I have taught for a number of years; teaching every grade from pre K through seniors in high school. All of my experiences have made me a caring, patient, understanding, knowledgeable teacher who breaks concepts into easy to understand chunks and makes learning fun and meaningful.
I teach using a variety of methods to help students learn. These include singing, doing hands on work, inquiry based methods , working with models, and showing connections with previous knowledge.
The greatest compliments that I have gotten as a teacher are: "...you really care about us", "...you make learning easy and fun", "...you help us understand why and how instead of just helping us get the answers", and "...you are so patient and always make us feel like we are smart and capable".
In my spare time, I love being with my family. I also enjoy spending time outside doing all sorts of sports...snow skiing, water skiing, kayaking, hiking, biking, and playing tennis. I also love to make things out of wood!
I am confident that with my experience and knowledge, I can help you achieve success in whatever subject poses a challenge for you.
I look forward to working with you!
