I graduated in May 2014 from Colgate University with a B.A. in Mathematics. After graduating, I began working in the market analytics department for a major media company in Manhattan. Last summer, I spent time working as a tutor for Family and Children's Services of Nantucket. My clients ranged from middle schoolers learning new subjects to adults preparing for professional exams all of whom had anxieties about their math skills derived from previous struggles with math-related subjects. In order to work through the frustrations that often accompany math, I attempt to boil a subject down to it's most basic elements to facilitate understanding before moving forward with testing that acquired knowledge. I have found this method to be remarkably successful in creating a base of knowledge that helps my students succeed in the short term as well as develop an idea of the most effective ways for them to learn and process math. As a life-long math lover, I enjoy all fields within mathematics but have the most fun tutoring Pre-Algebra, Algebra I, Algebra II, and SAT Math. In my free time, you can find me playing golf, watching the History Channel, or cheering on the Oregon Ducks.
