I recently graduated from the University of Central Oklahoma with a Bachelor's degree in General Studies. I also have an Associate's degree in Economics from the University Hampate Ba in Abidjan (Ivory Coast)I am actually studying two get 2 certificates in public health and humanitarian management.I have a two years experience as a French tutor for the Modern Language Department of the University of Central Oklahoma.My favorite subject to tutor is French for the reason that I am a native speaker. I have been a teacher for a total of 7 and 1/2 years. I first began teaching at a Head Start, starting out as an assistant teacher and moving my way up to a lead teacher. As a Head Start teacher, it was my job to teach students social skills, early literacy skills, and early math and science skills. I loved teaching this age group and only stopped working there in order to further my education.After I decided to go back to school, I worked a substitute teacher. I have experienced subbing in grades 1st through 5th, as well as all Middle School and High School grade levels. I also worked as a lead teacher for a private Pre-K program for 6 months. I worked there until I was hired in the public school system. Currently, I teach kindergarten in for Oklahoma Public Schools. I have taught Kindergarten for 2 years. I work with students on phonics, letter name and sound recognition, recognizing high frequency words, and other emergent reading skills. I also work with them on early math and science skills.I absolutely love to teach. I laugh every single day and learn something new each day. I am experienced with helping student a variety of subject matter, including reading, writing, math, science, and social studies. Growing up in one of the most densely populated places in the world has always played a big role in my life. Beyond anything, education was of the utmost importance. However, I still enjoyed school and was unaware of the amount of pressure or the competition around me. Mathematics was always my favorite subject and occupied most of my time. This love of mathematics led to my teaching mathematics as well. To further my career and personal goals I have decided to continue my education by pursuing a doctorate degree. And to gain more experience I am interested in becoming a tutor at varsity. At my university, I worked as a teaching assistant at the math lab. There I gained multi-cultural teaching experience. I assisted students with their work, helped professors and proctored classes. Working both as a TA and an RA gave me practical experience and a higher level of responsibility. I was also active on campus and a member of the math club. After graduating, I started teaching at universities and colleges. I have been employed for almost two years and have been teaching both developmental and undergraduate courses. Teaching students has been my greatest educational experience. It is both challenging and interesting to teach students from different ethnic and educational backgrounds. Teaching and tutoring mathematics has given me a much deeper knowledge of the theories and concepts that I have learned. Teaching these young individuals has taught me so much. Our daily interactions have been not only enjoyable but in some ways eye opening. Every student is a person with their own ideas and experiences. I am a graduate of the University of Central Oklahoma. I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics/Computer Science. I earned my Master of Education degree in Educational Administration. After graduating with my Bachelors degree, I was hired as a Math teacher at Jackson Middle School, and then Classen School of Advanced Studies in Oklahoma City. After receiving my Masters degree, I started providing professional development to teachers as an Instructional Facilitator, Instructional Consultant, and Instructional Coach. While I tutor a broad range of Math courses, I am most passionate about Algebra. In my experience helping struggling students prepare for Standardized Tests, we always seem to have the most fun (with remarkable advancements) prepping for the Algebraic portions of the exams. I am a firm proponent of education, believing it to be absolutely necessary for an improved quality of life, and I try to impart this appreciation to all of my students.
