During my time at The College of New Jersey, I have tutored many students in a variety of mathematical subjects and discovered a keen interest in it. I was there for two years and now have moved to Lehigh University where I will complete a MA in Mathematics in May. During my time here, I have been a teaching assistant for the various levels of calculus offered by the university and have had the opportunity of teaching students of all levels. Thus, it is obvious that my favorite subject to tutor is, in fact, calculus, but I am quite experienced in all other areas of mathematics as well. Since mathematics is such a conceptual subject, I find that by understanding misconceptions and errata, one might gain a better appreciation for the subject. Under this philosophy, I wish students to understand their errors fully, rather than simply being corrected when mistakes are made. Beyond the classroom, I enjoy playing table tennis, video games, and reading.

I love tutoring because it offers students a chance to practice 1-on-1 with someone who loves whatever content area they are interested in. I love math tutoring in particular because it is so foundational moving forward in academic careers and if its understood early on, moving forward will not be so challenging.

Nice to meet you!I just obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, and I am on my way to become a School Counselor. While in college, I spent my junior year tutoring writing. I actively listened to students' concerns, helped them problem-solve, and gave them the tools to improve their writing. One of the the most important things to know about me, however, is that I was taught there is no "one way" or "right way" to write. Every student's writing style is unique and a reflection of themselves. This applies to other school work as well; no two students learn the same way. With me, students' writing will always be their own, with a few tweaks for organization or clarity. I will work to tutor them according to the way they learn best.I am currently tutoring English, high school writing, middle school writing, study skills, and study/organizational skills. If you need to organize your essay, need help studying for a test, or want to take better notes, feel free to contact me!

TCNJ alumni tutors excel across TCNJ's strongest programs, including engineering, business, sciences, mathematics, and liberal arts. Because they've completed these demanding courses themselves, they can break down complex concepts and anticipate common misconceptions. Whether you need help with calculus, chemistry, accounting, or writing, connecting with a tutor who's walked the same academic path can make a real difference.

Your first session is about building a foundation for success. The tutor will assess your current understanding, learn about your goals (whether that's improving a grade, preparing for an exam, or mastering a specific topic), and discuss your learning style. TCNJ alumni tutors share the study methods that actually worked for them in a competitive academic environment—things like active recall, spaced repetition, and practice testing. They can also help you navigate TCNJ's resources, like office hours with professors and tutoring centers, and show you how to balance multiple demanding courses. Learning from someone who's successfully managed TCNJ's workload gives you a real advantage.

Absolutely. TCNJ alumni tutors understand the format and difficulty level of exams in your program and can help you prepare strategically. They'll work with you to review key concepts, practice problem-solving, and build confidence before test day.
