I've taught music for 5 and a half years and I'm continuously improving my Web Development skills! I currently am teaching adults a wide array of diverse topics. I hold a doctoral degree in Chemistry from Texas A&M University. Currently I am a postdoctoral associate at Trinity University where I am pursing additional training in teaching and research. Teaching has been a passion of mine; from my eagerness to mentor the kids in my neighborhood to my excitement of giving a mini lecture on the concept of balancing chemical equations in my middle school class to the time I gave my first research talk in college. Such moments have played a significant role in my long term career goals of teaching and mentoring students as they prepare for their different academic work. My attitude towards learning is "don't be afraid to ask for help". Essentially, I look forward to working with students to help them succeed in the areas they need help with.
I have taught elementary for 40 years. I retired in May, 2019. I would love to tutor your child. I am a published author, and love reading and writing, but can tutor your child in any elementary area. Since the C. I am a graduate from the University of North Texas. I received my M.S degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. I am passionate about biomedical research. I have been a biology and French tutor for more than four years. As a teaching assistant and a tutor, I listen closely to the student's concerns and provide academic assistance in courses such as Biology, Genetics, Anatomy and Physiology, and French. My experience tutoring starts informally in high school. I loved being able to help my fellow classmates understand a new concept. I am a graduate of the University of Central Oklahoma and I received my graduate degree in Special Education from Southwestern Oklahoma State University. I received my Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education in 1996 and my graduate degree in 2014. After receiving my undergraduate degree, I spent 16 years teaching 2nd and 3rd grade. I really had a calling for working with students that struggled understanding the concepts. After my son was born and it was determined that he had a learning disability, I decided to get a graduate degree in Special education. I now teaching children with a wide range of disabilities from Autism to Down Syndrome and everything in between. This has been the most rewarding decision in my adult life. I am a firm proponent of education, believing it to be absolutely necessary for an improved quality of life, and I try to impart this appreciation to all of my students. In my spare time, I enjoy exercising, running, and spending time with my husband and three children. We will often spend time with my parents fishing and enjoying the outdoors together.
