I have worked as an Academic Coach which means I worked with middle and high school students helping them to develop and achieve academic and career goals. I also tutored them as needed. I love math because I like to solve problems and investigate. I also like to figure out how to work difficult problems out.

As an online tutor with a robust academic background, I bring a unique blend of theoretical knowledge and practical experience in elementary and early childhood education. With a Bachelor's degree in Elementary and Early Childhood Education and a Master's in Curriculum and Coaching, I am committed to fostering a supportive learning environment that nurtures academic growth and personal development. My journey as an educator has been shaped by a passion for empowering young learners to reach their full potential. Through my undergraduate studies, I gained a deep understanding of child development, pedagogical approaches, and effective classroom management techniques. This foundation equipped me with the skills to engage students of diverse backgrounds and learning styles, ensuring that each child receives personalized attention and support. Building upon this foundation, my master's studies focused on curriculum development and educational leadership. I developed expertise in designing innovative learning experiences that align with educational standards while catering to the individual needs of students. My coursework in coaching has further enhanced my ability to motivate and inspire learners, fostering a growth mindset and resilience in the face of challenges. In my role as an online tutor, I leverage technology to create dynamic and interactive lessons that promote active learning. Whether it's through live sessions, multimedia resources, or personalized feedback, I strive to make learning engaging and accessible. I prioritize building strong relationships with my students, understanding their strengths and challenges to tailor my approach accordingly. I am dedicated to continuous professional growth, staying updated with the latest educational research and trends to enhance my teaching practices continually. By integrating evidence-based strategies and reflective practices into my tutoring sessions, I ensure that my students receive a high-quality educational experience that prepares them for future success. Above all, I am driven by a genuine enthusiasm for education and a deep commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of my students. I believe that every child has the potential to excel academically and socially, and I am honored to play a role in their educational journey. I look forward to the opportunity to contribute to your students' learning and growth as an online tutor.
As a teacher of the humanities and arts it is pivotal to the success and growth of our students that we foster an inclusive environment where they can feel that they have a voice and that their opinions are valued especially given the cultural enrichment a diverse classroom can bring. I worked as a member of the Summers at Mizzou program in 2019, which sponsored a group of teens from throughout Missouri from underrepresented ethnic backgrounds so they could come to the college and see opportunities in multiple career fields and have a chance to speak to some of the educators in those fields. The students were guided through first hand experiments in the robotics and engineering labs, had tours of the veterinary school, and were allowed to test drive some of the University of Missouri's virtual reality equipment as part of the computer sciences portion of the trip. Summers at Mizzou provided rooms and meal plans so that the students did not feel as though their trip was being undermined by financial stressors. I had the good fortune to be chosen as one of the writers for the Starting Gate New Play Festival hosted by the semi-professional Talking Horse Theatre in Columbia, MO. I wrote two ten-minute plays in response to a dialectic with a view toward normally marginalized or underrepresented groups such as the LGBTQIA+ community. I drew from my history of physical abuse as well as society's push to normalize people viewed as outsiders. During my time teaching as a substitute instructor while in my master's program for two years (2015-2018) in largely Latinx communities of Southern California as part of both the Val Verde Unified School District and the Jurupa Valley School District, I had the chance to work with students with a wealth of life experience to share with me. I made it a part of my adaptive curriculum to alter my teaching style to best suit the students' needs. Shootings had shaken the areas in which my students lived (with one of the victims being a young man from a nearby school who several of my students knew personally) and I made sure that my classroom was a safe environment in case my students felt the need to share or any unease they wanted to get off their chest. Several of my students have kept in contact with me from these long term assignments and shared their college acceptance letters with me. Looking forward to my role as an educator/tutor, I intend to serve as a mentor and advisor inspiring students from underrepresented groups to pursue English and writing programs, and to increase their confidence that they can reach whatever goals they aspire to.
I love to teach writing because I have been very successful at getting good results with my students. I have helped them improve their writing skills in ways that they never thought possible. I am an empathetic and active listener who helped them turn their thoughts and ideas into exceptional writing material. I used a step by step method by starting with writing a good topic sentence and a solid paragraph and then leading into the parts of an essay. I also had them write for different purposes like explaining how to do something or writing a descriptive essay. I found teaching writing to be a most fulfilling task and one that left me inspired by my students achievements as much as they felt inspired by my enthusiasm and positive and encouraging approach. I also have a Ph.Din American and European literature and can tutor in those subjects as well.
I am a recent MBA graduate, born and raised in Colombia, South America. I started tutoring while getting my undergraduate degree at the University of Maryland and did it for 2 and half years. I used to tutor Spanish, of course, and Math, my favorite subject ever since I was little. I decided to tutor at school because they needed someone who could tutor Spanish because they did not have anybody and a lot of students were asking for help; the school contacted me and offered me the job. I had never tutored anybody before I started, but I decided to give it a try since I am very friendly and outgoing and it worked out so well that I stayed with the program until the day I graduated.Tutoring, for me, is a way to share the knowledge I have with others that have similar difficulties to the ones I may have in other subjects. I enjoy teaching very much because it feels to me like I am giving back to the community and the country the knowledge and experience I have received since I moved from Colombia.
A little about me: I have over 10 years of experience in both tutoring and classroom instruction. My passion lies in fostering a love for learning through patience, kindness, and diligence. I believe in creating a supportive learning environment that encourages students to express their thoughts and develop critical thinking skills. By employing interactive and student-centered teaching methods, I am able to connect with each learner and adapt my approach to meet their unique needs. Witnessing my students grow in confidence and achieve their academic goals is what drives my commitment to education. Outside of teaching, I enjoy reading, writing, hiking, traveling, and painting.
I am a graduate of Lindenwood University. I graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Biology and a Master's degree in Education. After graduation, I began teaching in local private and public schools and then in 2017 began teaching online and tutoring. I am most passionate about making science approachable for all students by encouraging them and breaking concepts down in an easily digestible way. I want all students to feel supported and encouraged throughout their journey with science education. I enjoy gardening and playing with my dog and cat in my spare time.
Life-long educator that is passionate about helping youth to become the best they can be! I possess 15 years of classroom experience in all subjects from elementary to middle school.

I have 2 grandsons that my wife and I adore and spoil as much as possible.
I am a graduate of Truman (undergraduate degree in Family Sciences), University of Missouri-St. Louis (teaching certificate), and Lindenwood University (master's in education). I also took 30 hours beyond my Master's degree in professional development courses through LaVerne University. Although I did my student teaching in elementary school, I have spent the last 27 years teaching middle school and high school Spanish. As a 6th grader I had the opportunity to travel to Ireland with my piano teacher and other piano students. We performed in two cities as well as got to see sites of the country. We stayed with families and got an up close and personal view of the people and their life. That was the beginning of my love of traveling. Since then, I have travelled to about twelve different countries. It is a passion of mine to learn about other cultures, traditions, languages, and people of different countries. While I tutor a broad range of subjects, I have a special affinity for teaching Spanish. I enjoy sharing my love of the language with others through sharing my vast travel experiences. Regardless of what I may be teaching, it is important for me to not only teach through direct instruction but also allow students to acquire knowledge on their own through doing various activities, guided practice, games, and individual work. I try to keep students interested by making things fun. I give constant feedback so students know how they are doing and where they can improve. They will receive frequent constructive comments to help them learn and stay motivated. Since students may have different learning styles, I make sure to teach in different ways that work for that individual. I genuinely love to teach, and I believe my love comes across to the students. In my spare time, I enjoy learning other languages, doing volunteer work, dancing, playing with my pets, and doing various projects around the house including gardening.
I am an upperclassman social work student at Lindenwood University, with field experience that has helped me develop my skills. I have a 4.0 and love to learn! Social work is my favorite subject to teach because of the ability to connect it to real-life experiences. I have a sociology and a sports and society minor. I have taught people of all ages and have the ability to teach in personalized styles for each student. This diverse experience with students includes being a substitute teacher, coach, and group leader at a therapist's office. I focus on the strengths of the student to make for effective and enjoyable tutoring! Kindness, patience, and being easy to talk to are traits I pride myself on.
Learning is a passion of mine. I retired in December 2018 from full-time teaching to have a more flexible schedule to attend to my husband's health needs. I did not realize how quickly I would miss it! I want to help people succeed in the classroom. The moment a student realizes they now understand a concept is priceless. One of my greatest joys is when a student who has struggled says they now think math is fun!
