About Me

Teaching is my passion. I enjoy working with students of all ages and am a supportive and caring teacher who loves helping students grow and enjoy learning. I am a National Board Certified teacher and have been teaching for 18 years. I have experience working with middle school, high school, and college students. I have taught middle school English and social studies, high school AP English Language and Composition, and college history courses. I have also worked in university writing centers and am skilled at helping students develop their writing skills. In addition, a passion of mine is working with students to help them develop their executive functioning skills. I love helping students develop effective study habits by teaching them about organization, planning out assignments and due dates, and prioritizing. I also scored very high in the social studies and English Praxis tests and am eager to help others successfully pass these tests as well. But whatever I'm teaching, it's the relationship with my students that is key. My students feel safe and appreciated around me; they feel comfortable taking risks and making mistakestwo habits of mind that are crucial to learning.
